|150/5200-33B||AAS-300||Hazardous Wildlife Attractants On or Near Airports Provides guidance on certain land uses that have the potential to attract hazardous wildlife on or near public-use airports. It also discusses airport development projects (including airport construction, expansion, and renovation) affecting aircraft movement near hazardous wildlife attractants.||08-28-2007|
Maintenance of Airport Visual Aid Facilities
This AC provides guidance and specifications for the Maintenance of airport Visual Aid Facilities.
Notices to Airmen (NOTAMS) for Airport Operators
Provides guidance on using the NOTAM system for airport condition reporting and describes significant changes to the format of Distant (D) and Local (L) NOTAMs.
Operational Safety on Airports During Construction
Provides guidelines for operational safety on airports during construction. Principal changes include prohibiting construction in safety areas when associated runway or taxiway is open, providing guidance for incorporating safety risk management, and including checklists for writing Construction Safety and Phasing Plans (CSPP) and for daily inspections.
Painting, Marking, and Lighting of Vehicles Used on an Airport
Provides guidance, specifications, and standards for painting, marking, and lighting of ground vehicles operating in the airport air operations area (AOA). The approved lights, colors, and markings described in the AC assure the conspicuity of vehicles operating in the AOA from both the ground and the air. The AC contains new specifications and recommendations for the painting, marking, and lighting of Towbarless Tow Vehicles (TLTVs).
Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) Systems
Contains the FAA standards for the Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) systems, which provides pilots with visual glideslope guidance during approach for landing.
Programs for Training of Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Personnel
This AC provides information on courses and reference materials for training of Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) personnel. This revision replaces Appendix 1 with an Addendum of Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) Training Facilities, which the FAA will update on a quarterly basis. It also removes the one minute time requirement for donning of Personal Protective Equipment and the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus.
Qualifications for Wildlife Biologist Conducting Wildlife Hazard Assessments and Training Curriculums for Airport Personnel Involved in Controlling Wildlife Hazards on Airports (Consolidated AC includes Change 1)
Describes the qualifications for wildlife biologists who conduct Wildlife Hazard Assessments (WHA) for airports certificated under 14 CFR Part 139 and at non-certificated airports funded by the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) or Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) Program. Addresses the minimum wildlife hazard management curriculum for the initial and recurrent training of airport personnel who implement an FAA-approved Wildlife Hazard Management Plan (WHMP).
Consolidated AC includes Change 1 dated 1/31/2013. See also--
Segmented Circle Airport Marker System
This AC provides standards for a system of airport marking consisting of certain pilot aids and traffic control devices.
Specification for Airport and Heliport Beacons
Contains equipment specifications for light beacons that are used to locate and identify civil airports, military airports, seaplane bases, and heliports.
Specification for Runway and Taxiway Signs
Contains the FAA specifications for unlighted and lighted signs to be used on taxiways and runways. See also Engineering Brief 67: Light Sources Other than Incandescent and Xenon for Airport and Obstruction Lighting Fixtures.
Specification for Wind Cone Assemblies
This AC contains a specification for wind cone assemblies to be used to provide wind information to pilots. This revision revises the equipment qualification requirements to be furnished under the Federal grant assistance program for airports, applies photometric requirements for internally lighted wind cones to both Size 1 and Size 2 windsocks, and makes editorial changes.
Standards for Airport Markings
This AC contains the FAA standards for markings used on airport runways, taxiways, and aprons.
Standards for Airport Sign Systems
Contains standards for the siting and installation of signs on airport runways and taxiways, including taxiway ending markers, location signs, runway distance remaining signs, mandatory hold signs associated with POFZ and CAT II/III operations, and many others.
Standards for Using Remote Sensing Technologies in Airport Surveys
Provides guidance on the use of remote sensing technologies in the collection of data describing the physical infrastructure of an airport. This version is a substantial rewrite and includes new sections on remote sensing technologies other than aerial imagery (primarily LIDAR) for collecting airport data. See also the Airports GIS website.
Survey and Data Standards for Submission of Aeronautical Data Using Airports GIS
This AC provides the specifications and technical requirements for data collection conducted at airports in support of the FAA Airport Surveying – Geographic Information System (GIS) Program. The information furnished under these standards covers the entire spectrum of the FAA’s airport data requirements, including runway and stopway data, navigational aid data, obstruction data, and data on various airport features, including taxiways, aprons, and landmark features.
This version of the AC is a major rewrite; it now conforms to the new FAA enterprise data model and process of maintaining a single authoritative source of aeronautical data.
