Legislation

What We Do

We serve as legislative counsel to the agency and are responsible for all legislative policy matters, including:

  • Analysis of legislation pending before Congress
  • Analysis of legislation under consideration in the Administration
  • Advice on the development and drafting of legislation in support of Administration proposals to Congress
  • Advising the Administrator on the status of pending and proposed legislation
  • Development, drafting, and coordination of testimony to be given by FAA witnesses before congressional committees
  • Advice and counsel to FAA witnesses before congressional hearings
  • Analysis of testimony to be given by Administration witnesses before congressional committees
  • Executive Orders
  • Presidential Memoranda
  • Proclamations
  • Maintenance of FAA legislative history files
  • Providing technical assistance in response to requests from congressional staff
  • Coordination of administration approved legislative proposals
