The Office of the Center Counsel provides legal advice to all of the FAA lines of business which are located at the William J. Hughes Technical Center. It represents the FAA in all administrative hearings and provides assistance to the United States Attorney's Office with its representation of the FAA in federal court. The Office of the Center Counsel attorneys provide advice and guidance to all of the regional and headquarters offices on matters relating to intellectual property, research and development grants, cooperative research and development agreements, and FAA Centers of Excellence. They also provide advice to FAA management located at the Technical Center on a wide range of issues including: federal procurement, real estate, employment law, environmental law, intellectual property, FOIA issues, and tort and personal property claims. The Office of the Center Counsel also responds to requests for the testimony, in private litigation, of FAA employees located at the Technical Center.
The Center Counsel is the designated ethics official for FAA lines of business located at the Technical Center. She is responsible for reviewing employees’ confidential financial disclosure reports and for providing advice and training on the Standards of Conduct for federal employees.
