Remote Tower (RT)

Remote Towers allow Air Traffic Control Specialists to provide near real-time tower services using cameras, sensors, and digital technology to remotely replicate the functionality of a traditional control tower.

  • Provides 360-degree video surveillance of the airport environment
  • Allows ATC Specialists to be located at off-airport location
  • Initially utilized in Class D airspace, typically surrounding small airports
