Program Description
Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E)
The Research & Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) lab environment at the William J Hughes Technical Center leverages FAA and partner laboratories and tools to establish an end-to-end integrated lab environment(s) for research and operational integration testing of TBO capabilities into National Airspace System (NAS) operations. The RDT&E environment integrates partner labs, such as those at Boeing, NASA, and the FAA's Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC). The RDT&E Environment is a massive nationwide collection of both FAA and partner labs, facilities and tools. This interconnected web of facilities is a glimpse at what the future of the NAS may look like, as new tools leverage more information to make flying safer, faster, quieter and more efficient.
