Program Description
Time Division Multiplexing to Internet Protocol (TDM to IP)
The Time Division Multiplexing to Internet Protocol (TDM-to-IP) program was established by the FAA to cooperate with FAA programs and manage systems that are dependent on TDM-based services as they transition to an IP-compatible solution before telecommunication providers can discontinue legacy TDM-based services to customers across the country.

Key Capabilities
- Determine which NAS systems are dependent on TDM
- Facilitate discussions with portfolio programs on the phasing out of TDM
- Develop program level agreements (PLAs)
- Test NAS interface solution sets
- Develop cost and schedule estimates
- Allocate funding to the three primary solutions previously defined
- Coordinate with FENS to minimize duplication of effort for network provided conversion solutions and deployment

Benefits
- NAS System Modernization - Modernizes systems to use standard IP/Ethernet interfaces
- System Interface Conversion - Implements a conversion solution on the user/customer side of the network demarcation point
- Network Provided Conversion - Implements a conversion solution on the network side of the demarcation point
