Section 1. INTRODUCTION

PURPOSE OF THIS ORDER
This order
contains the approved word and phrase contractions used by
personnel of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). It is also
used by other agencies that provide air traffic control,
communications, weather, charting, and associated services.
1-1-2.
AUDIENCE
This order
applies to all FAA personnel and other agencies using ATO
directives. It is also used by the aviation public.

1-1-4. WHAT
THIS ORDER CANCELS

7340.2D, Contractions, dated May 2, 2013, and all changes to
it are cancelled.

EXPLANATION OF CHANGES
Additions,
modifications and deletions (CAM) are indicated on page CAM-1-1.
1-1-6.
SUBMISSION CUTOFF AND EFFECTIVE DATES
This order and
its changes are scheduled to be published every 112 days.

DELIVERY DATES
If a facility
has not received the Order/changes within 5 days prior to the
effective date, the facility must notify its regional/service area
distribution officer.
1-1-8.
RECOMMENDATION FOR PROCEDURAL CHANGES
To report
changes to information in the Contractions Order, write to FAA,
Mission Support Services, Aeronautical Information Management, 800
Independence Avenue, SW, Washington, DC 20591 or call

GENERAL NOTICES (GENOTS)
ICAO does not
issue, modify, or cancel telephony/identifier assignments, as does
the FAA through GENOTs. If there appears to be a conflict between
published data and GENOT data, use the GENOT data. Then make pen
and ink changes to reflect the GENOT data.
