2018 NCAA Men’s Final Four Air Traffic Procedures

San Antonio, Texas

March 28-April 3 , 2018

In anticipation of a large number of aircraft operating in the San Antonio, Texas area during the NCAA Men’s Final Four, the following special air traffic procedures will be used to minimize air traffic delays and enhance safety:

GENERAL

Due to the high volume of air traffic in the San Antonio area, intended arrival and departure times must be provided to your FBO for, non-scheduled air carrier, IFR and VFR, arrivals and departures. This will include KSAT, KSSF and KSKF. Standard FAA traffic management initiatives will be implemented when demand exceeds capacity.

VFR SAN ANTONIO TERMINAL AREA OPERATIONS

Class C airspace requirements apply. Contact San Antonio Approach Control a minimum of 10 miles from entering Class C airspace on the following frequencies: 127.1 arriving from the NORTH thru EAST, 128.05 arriving from the EAST thru SOUTH, 125.7 arriving from the SOUTH thru WEST, 125.1 arriving from the WEST thru NORTH. VFR arrivals can expect lengthy delays outside San Antonio Class C airspace during peak traffic periods. Formation flights, practice approaches, touch and go operations are prohibited within the San Antonio terminal area. VFR advisory service within the San Antonio terminal area will be on a workload-permitting basis. Class C violators will be aggressively pursued.
