Launch Details


The Boeing Company successfully launched a Delta II launch vehicle on February 8, 2000, at 4:24 p.m. EST. The launch took place from Cape Canaveral Air Station, Florida, and carried four more GLOBALSTAR satellites to low earth orbit, bringing the total number of satellites on orbit to 52. This was the seventh GLOBALSTAR mission launched on a Delta. Six additional missions, consisting of four satellites each, were launched on Soyuz launch vehicles. GLOBALSTAR is a telecommunication service delivered through 48 satellites. This launch added four spares to the constellation.
