Two new division managers have been named at the FAA's Alaskan Region, Claudia Hoversten and Byron Huffman. Claudia Hoversten, a 28-year employee of the Federal Aviation Administration, has been named manager of the Logistics Division in the Alaskan Region. Hoversten has held positions in Air Traffic Control, Airway Facilities, Budget and Finance and Administrative Support. As head of Logistics, she supervises real estate, property, purchasing and contracting functions.

A graduate of the University of Alaska Anchorage, she graduated Cum Laude with a BA in Business Administration. Hoversten serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the 5-Miler for Men's Cancer Research Run. She led the recent successful Combined Federal Campaign for FAA in Alaska surpassing the goal for 2001.

Byron K. Huffman has joined the FAA Alaskan Region as Airports Division Manager. Huffman will lead a staff of 18 persons in providing federal oversight for the airport capital improvements in the state of Alaska. The division also oversees safety and certification at the federally regulated airports in the state.

This is Huffman's first assignment with the FAA. Prior to joining the agency he spent the last 18 months working at the Flight Training Center for United Airlines in Denver, CO. This is his third time living in Alaska. He worked for United Airlines from June 1999 until March 2000, first as a ramp serviceman then as the administrative manager for United's DC-10 flight domicile here in Anchorage.
