Hypoxia is a constant threat. It can render a pilot unconscious in a few seconds. Hypoxia can also affect their judgment, hand eye coordination, ability to properly see and speak within only a few minutes. This video explains the cause of hypoxia, the time of useful consciousness at specific altitudes, the symptoms of hypoxia, and in-flight steps which must be taken to assure personal and aircraft safety.
