Ultralight Aircraft Operating instructions
The following instructions are provided to assist aircraft operators and airport users to safely and efficiently access the Yuba County Airport. Ultralight Pilots and operators should follow the following Course Rules while operating ultralight aircraft at MYV:
- Ultralight operations are to be conducted in the northeast quadrant of the airport, north of Runway 5/23 and east of Runway 14/32, as indicated on the exhibit.
- Enter and exit the traffic pattern as shown on the map at or below 500' AGL (564' MSL).
- Once the aircraft departs the ground, use the pattern to achieve safe operating altitude at or below 500 feet AGL, then immediately depart using the traffic pattern departure procedures depicted on the map.
- Traffic pattern is right-hand traffic in the typical rectangular configuration as described in the AIM.
- Ultralights shall not operate between 500' and 1,500' AGL within two miles of the airport.
- Ultralights should avoid congested and designated noise-sensitive areas while operating in the vicinity of the airport.
- The staging area is for activities specific to launch and recovery of aircraft. Vehicle and equipment parking and storage are for aircraft involved in active operations. Long-term parking shall be in the main airport parking lot.
- Use the Common Traffic Advisory Frequency (CTAF) to announce your position and intentions.
- Pilots of all aircraft are solely responsible for maintaining separation from other aircraft, including ultralights and lighter-than-aircraft. Pilots are encouraged to review and implement techniques outlined in AIM Section 4-4-15, "Use of Visual Clearing Procedures and Scanning Techniques."
Pilots should review current NOTAMs and airport information prior to operating at the Yuba County Airport.
