1.. Low Altitude ATS Route Structure

  1. The U.S. does not use the term “Lower ATS Routes.” The published low altitude route structure in the U.S. ­consists of VOR Federal airways, L/MF Federal airways and low altitude RNAV routes (T-routes). The low ­altitude route structure is for use from 1,200 feet above the surface (or in some instances higher) up to but not ­including 18,000 feet MSL.
    1. Route designators and significant points defining the routes are listed in FAA Order JO 7400.11, Airspace ­Designations and Reporting Points.
    2. Applicable route tracks, radials, distances between points, changeover points, cruising altitudes for ­direction of flight, upper and lower limits, minimum flight altitudes and ARTCC boundaries are published on ­the IFR Enroute Low Altitude - U.S. chart series.
    3. The low altitude routes are designated as Class E airspace.
