Community Engagement - Wilmington International Airport, NC
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is proposing to modify the airspace over Wilmington International Airport (ILM) in North Carolina. The proposal would establish Class C airspace over ILM. Existing flight paths would not change, but where pilots are required to interact with Air Traffic Control would change. The airspace change is to better manage the complexity and volume of aviation activities in the area. The purpose of the meeting is to ask for comments on the proposal’s effect on local aviation operations.
The information gathered through this meeting will assist the FAA in the drafting of a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) that will be published in the Federal Register. The public will be afforded the opportunity to comment on any NPRM published on this matter.
The Informal Airspace Meeting for ILM will be held on October 1, 2025, at 5 p.m. ET. Participants must register prior to the meeting.
