Reports
The Drone Normalization Strategy: Moving Beyond Integration will be used by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a guide for drone normalization goals and activities over the next four years. This strategy report meets the requirements of section 921(a)(1) of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024, and addresses Section 5(a) of Executive Order 14307, Unleashing American Drone Dominance.
The FAA made a strategic decision to shift from a Drone Integration Strategy to a Drone Normalization Strategy in recognition that unmanned aircraft have evolved from new entrants to established stakeholders in the National Airspace System (NAS).
The strategy report is intended for both internal and external stakeholders and provides a high-level view of the current state and near future of drone normalization. The report’s updated roadmap outlines how FAA will support the continued acceleration and safe commercialization of drone technologies into the NAS.
