View EUROCAE instructions
Accuris (Formally IHS) - Accuris provides access to a global index of one million industry standards and related documents written by over 450 different standards-developing organizations. Many of the documents in the global index are not included in our basic subscription. However, they are available by special order. See Accuris instructions below for more information. Accuris subscription does not include ARINC, ASTM, EUROCAE, RTCA and SAE documents. To access ARINC, ASTM, EUROCAE, RTCA and SAE documents individuals must use the specific icon for the corresponding organization.
Accuris Engineering Workbench includes:
- Bibliographic records access to search existing consensus standards and specifications whether or not the documents are part of a FAA paid access subscription. Search results will provide full document titles including revision, supplement, addenda, errata indication, and cross referencing to superseded material, document number, number of document pages, publication date, indication of ANSI approval, DoD adoption, and new or revised since the previous update, abstracts (where available) and any additional information available.
- A paid access subscription to frequently used consensus standards and specifications of which the FAA has paid for full access to and allows qualified users view, and in most cases, download and print the consensus standard.
- Access to non-subscription standards. Purchase requests for standards not in the pre-paid access may be purchased on an individual basis pending availability of funding.
View a detailed list of Accuris document availability through the FAA subscription.
If you have identified an industry standard document that is not in the FAA Accuris subscription and you believe access to this document would be of value to FAA personnel, please take a minute to complete a Request for Accuris Document Subscription.

NAS Animated Storyboard
The NAS Animated Storyboard is an online set of animations that demonstrate how the various programs or capabilities of the NextGen's National Airspace System (NAS) operate. The Storyboard homepage provides the user with two views: Operational and System. The Operational View is a short animation (approximately 30 seconds to one minute) of how each major program or capability interacts within the NAS. These short animations are enabled by first clicking a Domain Button (e.g. Surveillance), which is located on the bottom of the Storyboard canvas, then clicking on one of the Programs or Capabilities Buttons associated with that Domain (e.g. ASDE-X). Once enabled, the animation sequentially shows the major message flow (e.g. inputs and outputs) to each NAS facility. Pop-up windows are also displayed to highlight any important text or display information.
The System View Button, which is located on the top right hand corner of the canvas, provides a more in-depth animation (typically 4 to 5 minutes) of each program or capability. To enable this feature, click the System View Button and a screen appears with ICONS supplemented by text. Simply click on the ICON for the NAS program or capability you wish to view.
Each System View Storyboard contains the following information:
- A short text description of the program or capability
- A map indication illustrating where the program or capability is deployed
- A link to the in-depth animated storyboard
There is also an exit button to return to the main menu.
