Pearlis Johnson

Pearlis Johnson became the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Office of Finance and Management's Deputy Regional Administrator for the Southern Region (ASOASO) in 2006. The ASO Region is responsible for aviation-related work in eight states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. It also encompasses the world's largest and busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International, and Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, another of the busiest commercial airports in the country. His experience in government spans more than 28 years, and his private aviation industry experience exceeds 10 years.

Mr. Johnson began his aviation career in 1980 with the FAA. In 1994 he went on to Northwest Airlines, serving in several key management roles, including Managing Director of Customer Service and Operations Human Resources. He also served as the Vice President for Operations and Marketing for Operational Technologies Services in Vienna, Virginia. While there, he led and directed technical and administrative personnel providing engineering services and training to the federal government. Mr. Johnson returned to the FAA in 2003 as the International Program Division Manager, and later in 2007 he joined the FAA's Southern Region as Deputy Regional Administrator.

Mr. Johnson holds a Master's degree in Business and Public Administration from Southeastern University and a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from North Carolina Central University.
