Carlette Young

Acting Deputy Regional Administrator, Western-Pacific Region 

Carlette Young was appointed the Acting Deputy Regional Administrator for the FAA Western-Pacific Region (AWP) in June 2025.  

Young has more than 30 years of FAA experience and has held numerous leadership roles advancing critical aerospace safety and efficiency priorities. She previously served as the AWP Supervisory Senior Advisor and as the Regional Tribal Liaison overseeing a staff that facilitated congressional and stakeholder outreach, community engagement, and horizontal integration.  

Young was instrumental in standing up a Community Engagement Governance Council, as well as expanding the Los Angeles International Airport Construction Governance to include off-airport construction projects, such as stadium developments, which potentially impacted operations. She also represented the FAA Office of National Engagement and Regional Administration on the FAA Noise Policy Review Technical Workgroup. 

Throughout her career, Young gained key insights into the air and space sector while serving as a Project Manager in the AWP Special Programs Office, Program Analyst, and Liaison to the National Association of State Aviation Officials.  

As the AWP STEM Aviation and Space Education (AVSED) Program Manager, she successfully partnered with other transportation modes to develop the National Summer Transportation Institute Pilot Program. She also served as the Region X Secretary with the National Association of Air Traffic Controllers. 

Young holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and is a graduate of the Federal Executive Board Leadership Associates Program.
