Ryan Almasy
Acting Deputy Regional Administrator, Southern Region
Ryan Almasy began serving as the Acting Deputy
Regional Administrator for the FAA’s Southern Region in June of 2025. In this role, he assists the Regional Administrator in leading horizontal integration among the FAA’s Lines of Business and Staff Offices, the aviation industry, and public stakeholders throughout eight southeastern states and the Caribbean.
With a career spanning nearly three decades, marked by a series of leadership positions, Ryan has consistently provided exceptional direction and strategic vision within the FAA.
Prior to his current role, Ryan temporarily served as the Acting Regional Administrator in the Southern Region during a structured leadership transition. He was also the Executive Director of the FAA’s three Service Centers, overseeing nationwide emergency communications and coordination support during events affecting aerospace operations.
Other high-visibility leadership positions Ryan held were concentrated in the FAA's Eastern Service Center, including the Operations Support Group Manager, Planning and Requirements Group Manager, Technical Services Manager, and Eastern Service Center Director. He spearheaded key initiatives, most notably supporting the successful implementation of the South-Central Florida Metroplex, which garnered the prestigious Team Award from the Secretary of the Department of Transportation.
Prior to his tenure at the FAA, Ryan was a consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton, providing expert guidance in both the private and government sectors.
A lifelong learner, Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University and the State University of New York. In 2022, he further honed his leadership acumen with advanced executive leadership training.
