Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) Final Policy and Solicitation for Review Panel Members

The FAA issued final policy that requires manufacturers to monitor, report and investigate all allegations of interference and to report the results to the FAA. It also establishes a clear path for these industry employees to speak freely with FAA certification officials at any time. These employees must be trained on the new policy.

The FAA also published a notice (PDF document above) to solicit nominations for membership on the Organization Designation Authorizations (ODA) for Transport Airplanes Expert Review Panel (“Review Panel”) in response to Section 103, “Expert Review of Organization Designation Authorizations for Transport Airplanes,” of the Aircraft Certification, Safety, and Accountability Act, Pub. L. 116-260, Div. V, § 103. The objectives of the Review Panel are to review and make recommendations for each holder of an ODA for the design and production of transport airplanes.

Details on the composition of the review panel and nominee qualifications are available on the committee page
