Report No: DOT/FAA/AM-63/09
Title and Subtitle: Studies of airloads on man
Report Date: May 1963
Authors: Swearingen JJ, McFadden EB
Abstract: Data obtained in three different studies related to measurement of forces on the body due to air movement are summarized. The effects of short duration blast forces on personnel seated or standing at various distances from openings during pressure loss, blast forces necessary to disorient the body from numerous positions, effect of clothing on the drag forces, and measurements of forces and moments on the body during wind tunnel tests are discussed and compared.
Key Words: blast forces, seated, wind tunnel
