Title and Subtitle: Selection Criteria for Alcohol Detection Methods
Report Date: August 1991
Authors: Canfield, D.V., McLean, G.A, Wilcox, B.C.
Abstract: The potential need for testing workers in the aviation industry for job-related alcohol abuse requires the development of a testing strategy based, in part, on selection of alcohol test instruments appropriate to the specific goals of the Federal Aviation Administration. The extensive availability of test. instruments with varying capabilities and limitations makes selection of alcohol test instruments difficult technologically, with a considerable potential for choosing test instruments of inappropriate character. The considerations outlined herein are intended to assist in the selection process.
