Applicants should complete an exam in the MedXPress system at: https://medxpress.faa.gov/medxpress/

Make an appointment with an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME). Find an AME in the following website: https://designee.faa.gov/designeeLocator - under Designee Types, select “AME” from the dropdown menu in the MedXPress.

The AME will review the history and complete a physical exam. If found qualified, the AME can issue a medical certificate.

If you have an FAA Authorization for Special Issuance, you should refer to the instructions in the letter to obtain an updated medical certificate.
