- This advisory circular (AC) is intended to promote uniformity of implementation of part 36 of the noise certification requirements of the United States Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 14. It provides (1) guidance to certificating authorities and applicants regarding the intended meaning and stringency of the Standards in part 36 as amended through October 4, 2017 (Amendment 36-31), and (2) the specific procedures that are deemed acceptable in demonstrating compliance with those Standards.

Where appropriate, FAA policy governing such certifications is reviewed.
