Description

This AC provides information and guidance material that a regulated entity (RE) operating under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) may use when voluntarily disclosing to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) apparent violations of those FAA regulations listed in paragraph 2. The procedures and practices outlined herein may be applied to all applicable REs. The procedures and practices outlined in this AC cannot be applied to persons who are required to report failures, malfunctions, and defects under applicable regulations (e.g., 14 CFR part 21, § 21.3). The contents of this document do not have the force and effect of law and are not meant to bind the public in any way, and the document is intended only to provide information to the public regarding existing requirements under the law or agency policies.
