Description

This advisory circular (AC) provides information on maintenance programs to foreign air carriers and foreign persons operating U.S.-registered aircraft under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 129. Part 129, § 129.14(a) requires that each foreign air carrier and each foreign person operating a U.S.-registered aircraft within or outside the United States in common carriage shall ensure that each aircraft is maintained in accordance witha program approved by the FAA. Title 14 CFR part 43 prescribes the rules governing the performance of maintenance, reventive maintenance, and alterations of aircraft having a U.S. airworthiness certificate. You may submit an alternate maintenance program to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) if you ascertain the maintenance program meets therequirements of the pertinent FAA regulations. However, if you use the means described in this AC, you should conform to it in all important respects to assure acceptability.
