Order purpose statement

The FAA Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) is dedicated to excellence and leadership in protecting the safety and health of its employees. It is the MMAC policy to ensure that employees, contractors, students, and visitors are provided with workplaces that are free from recognized hazards that may cause death or serious illness or injury. In keeping with this commitment, the MMAC has implemented, maintained, and continually improved its safety and health performance by utilizing a comprehensive Occupational Safety and Health Management System which: •Ensures compliance with applicable occupational safety and health requirements. •Identifies hazards, assesses risks, and implements controls. •Prevents injury and illness. •Establishes safety and health metrics. This order establishes the authorities, roles, and responsibilities for the Occupational Safety and Health Management System at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center. This order also implements the occupational safety and health technical requirements required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the FAA.
