Order purpose statement

This order provides guidance, agency policy, and criteria for the issuance, use, and control of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Form 8800-2, Commercial Space Transportation (AST) credentials. Inspectors are to use these credentials during the conduct of audits, safety inspections, and evaluations of FAA regulatory compliance at Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Defense (DOD), FAA licensee and permittee facilities, and those of their contractors and subcontractors.
