Order purpose statement

This Order establishes Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) policies, procedures, responsibilities, and guidelines for the procurement, use, management, and disposal of ozone-depleting substances (ODS) and other regulated greenhouse gases (GHGs) and implementation of their phase-out pursuant to Title VI of the Clean Air Act (CAA) Amendments of 1990, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations concerning Ozone protection promulgated under Section 612 of the CAA, and the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act of 2020 (40 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 82). Where relevant, this Order will include requirements for non-ODS substitute refrigerants, which are covered under the Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) program, as regulated under Section 612 of the CAA (40 CFR Part 82).
