Order purpose statement

This order is an implementing directive of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-126, Improving the Management and Use of Government Aircraft, and related sections of Title 41 of the Code of Federal Regulations (41 CFR) Part 102-33, Management of Government Aircraft. More specifically, part 102-33 sets forth the responsibilities of executive agencies in managing government aircraft. OMB Circular A-126 prescribes policies to be followed by executive agencies in acquiring, managing, using, accounting for the costs of, and disposing of government aircraft. This order also prescribes the roles and responsibilities of the Flight Program Executive and the Flight Program Oversight Executive, as delegated by the FAA Administrator, along with other FAA Flight Program policies.
