Order purpose statement

In accordance with Title 41 of the Code of Federal Regulations (41 CFR) part 102-33.125, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) must establish flight program standards to ensure FAA aircraft are operated safely, effectively, and efficiently. This order sets forth the minimum standards for FAA Flight Program management and administration; operations; maintenance; training; and safety as required by part 102-33, subpart C, for approved uses of FAA aircraft, as set forth in FAA Order 4040.9 (as amended). This order also describes how the FAA Flight Program complies with part 102-33, subpart C by holding an air operator certificate and operating in compliance with the applicable requirements of 14 CFR.
