Order purpose statement

The purpose of these procedures is to integrate the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) into FAA’s decision-making processes. Specifically, the procedures: describe the process by which FAA determines, based on its statutory authorities and Congressional statements of purpose and policy, e.g. safety, efficiency, and minimizing effects of aviation activity on people and the environment, what actions are subject to NEPA’s procedural requirements and the applicable level of NEPA review.
