All unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) — aka drones — must be registered with the Federal Aviation Administration's unmanned aircraft system (UAS) registry. A federal law effective December 21, 2015 requires unmanned aircraft registration, and operators/users are subject to civil and criminal penalties if you do not register.

No forms are downloadable from this FAA Forms website for UAS activity. For information and guidance on unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) (including model or RC craft), forms, or assistance, please access the following websites:

Working with FAA Forms

Please note that some of the Adobe PDF forms are not fillable, while others can only save information with the full version of Adobe Acrobat (not a free download) or Adobe Approval 5.0 (not a free download).

Successful installation of the appropriate reader/filler will allow you to view, save, fill in, email, or print a form, depending on the tools available for a particular version of a form and the version of the reader/filler software.

  • Free plugins for Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, and MS Excel are available at the bottom of this page.
