Zamperini Field Airport (TOA)
Zamperini Field (TOA) is a small, predominantly general aviation airport located in the city of Torrance, California. Just eight miles south of Los Angeles International, and nine miles west of the Long Beach International airports, it is also in close proximity to the smaller Compton/Woodley and Jack Northrup Field/Hawthorne Municipal airports. The airspace in this area is extremely congested, and the first time visitor needs to be thoroughly familiar with Class Bravo and Class Charlie airspace requirements and locations. In addition, the definitions and requirements for the Mini, Coastal, Hollywood Park, Coliseum routes, and the Special Flight Rules Area (SFRA) will help the pilot navigate this complex airspace. This information is located in the Los Angeles VFR Terminal Area Chart.
