Important Information for Applicants Pursuing Private Pilot Airplane or Commercial Pilot Airplane Certifications
The Private Pilot Airplane (PAR) and Commercial Pilot Airplane (CAX) knowledge tests are the first two FAA knowledge tests to be analyzed as part of the FAA’s Airman Certificate Testing Service (ACTS) contract with the mission to enhance the overall quality of FAA airman knowledge tests. Extensive analysis was conducted as part of the overall assessment process that takes a scientific approach to adjusting current FAA airman knowledge tests to be academically sound and align with Airman Certification Standards. The assessment process of the PAR and CAX knowledge tests concluded that the time allotted for those two exams should be 120 minutes for the PAR test and 150 minutes for the CAX test.
