Tina Amereihn

Tina Amereihn serves as FAA Associate Administrator for Aviation Safety, leading the organization that sets, oversees, and enforces safety standards for all parts of the aviation industry, impacting every facet of domestic and international civil aviation safety.

She began this job in September 2025, overseeing the certification, production approval, and continued airworthiness of aircraft; and certification of pilots, mechanics, and others in safety-related positions.

Aviation Safety is also responsible for creating and amending the rules and regulations that provide aviation safety standards, and provides oversight through safety programs, audits, evaluations, analysis, education, training, research, and accident/incident investigations.

Amereihn was previously acting Associate Administrator for Aviation Safety. She joined the FAA in 1983 and has a 42-year career serving in numerous roles at the at the agency, including Chief of Staff, Acting Assistant Administrator for Finance and Administration, Acting Assistant Administrator of Human Resources Management, Chief Information Officer, and as Regional Director for Europe Africa and the Middle East. She worked in various positions in the Aviation Safety organization, notably leading the Quality, Integration, and Executive Services organization.

Amereihn earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Towson State University, and a Master of Science in Information System Technology from George Washington University.
