The President’s FY 2025 FAA budget proposal calls for a dedicated capital investment of $8 billion over the next five years for Facility Replacement and Radar Modernization of aging air traffic control facilities and radars.
The proposal would provide mandatory funding of $1 billion per year in FY 2025 and FY 2026 and $2 billion per year in FY 2027, 2028 and 2029, building on commitments made in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
The Facility Replacement and Radar Modernization proposal, if enacted by Congress, will provide the FAA with a new funding stream to replace or modernize aging air traffic control facilities. This includes modernizing 377 critical radar systems and more than 20 air traffic control facilities.
