Ben Supko
Associate Administrator, Security and Hazardous Materials Safety Organization (Acting)

Ben Supko is the acting Associate Administrator for Security and Hazardous Materials Safety (ASH). Supko is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Federal Aviation Administration's programs focused on identifying, analyzing, and responding to security threats and hazardous materials safety risks to the National Airspace System (NAS). Supko provides executive oversight and direction for over 600 employees in six programs focused on national security and intelligence operations, safety oversight of aviation transportation of hazardous materials, emergency planning and operations, professional responsibility, misconduct investigations, digital forensics, security of FAA facilities, personnel security, insider threat, counterintelligence, UAS security, and workforce services for ASH employees.
Supko's position of record is the Executive Director of ASH's Office of Hazardous Materials Safety (AXH). As the Executive Director, he provides strategic direction and management of a geographically dispersed organization. Through safety management partnerships, Supko strengthens the safety culture of aviation entities, government agencies, foreign states, trade associations, and airline passengers. He produces global leaders focused on improving aviation safety through risk identification and mitigation.
Supko has over 24 years of experience and expertise in the safe transportation of hazardous materials. Before becoming the FAA Executive Director of AXH, Supko served as the Deputy Executive Director of AXH. In his Deputy role, Supko improved the ability of the FAA and industry stakeholders to identify, analyze, and manage aviation safety risks. He implemented an innovative approach for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, built on trust, accountability, and recognition of AXH's critical aviation safety role. Supko began his Federal career with DOT's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), where he established multi-modal regulations for the safe and secure transportation of hazardous materials.
