Donald T. Bornhorst
Donald T. Bornhorst serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In this role, he provides executive oversight to a wide range of agency programs that support safety professionals and ensures the efficient use of agency resources.
With over 30 years of experience, Mr. Bornhorst has dedicated his career to the aviation industry. Prior to joining the FAA, Mr. Bornhorst owned his own consulting firm and provided expertise to United Airlines, Bombardier, and Delta Air Lines.
From 2007-2015, Mr. Bornhorst was the senior vice president - Delta Connection where he led the largest regional fleet among the major airline brands with an annual budget in-excess of $7 billion and a fleet of over 600 aircraft spread among 9 contract and subsidiary partners. Under his leadership, Delta Connection improved operational and customer satisfaction rankings from last place to first.
Mr. Bornhorst held multiple positions with Comair Holding Inc. from 1991 to 2007, including serving as their chief financial officer and president from May 2006 to October 2007. In this role, he led the organization through the Chapter 11 restructuring process, and the fatal crash of Comair Flight 5191.
Mr. Bornhorst started his career working for Deloitte and Touche as a senior certified public accountant where he represented clients ranging from manufacturing, transportation, real estate, and professional sports.
Mr. Bornhorst holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Eastern Kentucky University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
