Air Traffic Controller Workforce Plan

Update for 2018

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) plans to hire and train several thousand air traffic controllers over the next decade. FAA's controller workforce reached 14,481 in fiscal 2017. The FAA hired 1,880 new controllers in fiscal 2017, and has hired more than 6,500 controllers over the last five years.
