How to Get Started 

There will be many opportunities for airports and businesses to get involved in building better airports across America. This page provides all information about what you can do now and what to be on the lookout for in the near future. Be sure to stay up-to-date on the latest funding announcements and project progress on Airport Infrastructure, Air Traffic Facilities, and Airport Terminals. Businesses
Businesses of all types have a role in advancing our airports’ infrastructure into the future. Take the following steps to be sure your business is ready to participate in funding opportunities as they become available.
  • Register your business with SAM – Registering with the System for Award Management (SAM) is required to do business with the U.S. Government.
  • Learn about FAA’s acquisition policies and guidance – Find critical resources on how to work with FAA and learn how FAA procures goods and services. 
Airports
The money can be invested in a variety of different projects, and the FAA encourages Airports to prioritize projects that increase airport safety, equity, and sustainability.
  • Stay tuned – Airports can submit projects for FAA review. Learn more about what types of projects are generally eligible. 
  • Start working with the FAA now – For most funds under the IIJA, Airports can submit projects following our well established Airports Capital Improvement Process (ACIP). Contact your local Airports District Office today.

Small Business Webinar

The FAA's Small Business Office hosted a third webinar on Monday, September 12, 2022  about areas of opportunity related to the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). This virtual event was targeted for small business and small disadvantaged business firms interested in FAA contracting and subcontracting opportunities in areas of infrastructure supporting air traffic facilities.
