Regulatory Standards Technical Training

The Regulatory Standards Division trains inspectors, engineers, and pilots to work together to set and maintain the highest standard of safety in the world, and to provide the public with the safest national airspace. The Regulatory Standards Division provides this training in the fields of flight procedures, avionics, aircraft certification, manufacturing, air carrier and general aviation pilot operations, and airworthiness.

The Regulatory Standards Division is constantly finding ways to improve the training process. The in depth use of advanced automation processes, together with an open communications policy, allows the student to take maximum advantage of the Federal Aviation Administration Academy's dynamic classroom environment, while learning from experienced inspectors in the field.

The Regulatory Standards Division cultivates an environment that promotes the interchange of ideas and solutions between inspectors across the country, and between inspectors and instructors at the Academy. This valuable resource provides a collective pool of talent and experience that is continuously available to the inspector in the field long after they have completed their Academy training.
