FAA to Brief Media on Draft Environmental Assessment for Air Traffic Improvements
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will hold a virtual briefing for local media on the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the South-Central Florida Metroplex. The project proposes changes to air traffic procedures for Miami (MIA) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood (FLL) international airports and general aviation airports in South Florida. The agency also will talk about virtual workshops next week where South Florida residents can learn more about the Draft EA and ask questions of agency experts.
On May 11, the FAA posted the Draft EA and opened a 60-day public comment period for the South-Central Florida Metroplex, the agency’s plan to modernize air traffic procedures for MIA, FLL and 19 additional airports in the southern half of the state.
