WASHINGTON – General aviation pilots flying in the San Francisco Bay Area from Feb. 4-10, 2026, must be aware of temporary flight restrictions, follow special air traffic procedures, and comply with additional operational requirements that will be in effect for Super Bowl LX.    

The FAA will issue a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) later in January about the procedures for the game and specific arrival and departure route requirements.   

Adding more test sites will help the FAA gather critical safety data to safely handle the next wave of aviation innovation.

Washington, D.C.- The Federal Aviation Administration is gearing up for the busy Thanksgiving travel time and is ready to get more than 360,000 flights to their destinations. 

We expect this Thanksgiving holiday travel period to be the busiest in 15 years, with Tuesday, Nov. 25 being the peak travel day with more than 52,000 flights.
