U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao Announces $15.9 Million in Infrastructure Grants to Oklahoma Airports

WASHINGTON – U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine L. Chao announced today that the Trump Administration will award more than $1.2 billion in airport safety and infrastructure grants through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to 405 airports in 50 states and six U.S. territories.

“This $1.2 billion federal investment will improve our nation’s airport infrastructure, enhance safety, and strengthen growth in local communities, which is especially important as the economy recovers from COVID-19,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao. 

The Department is awarding federal grants to the following airports in the State of Oklahoma:

  • $3,274,251 for Lawton-Fort Sill Regional Airport for runway rehabilitation.
  • $2,722,222 for Jones Memorial Airport in Bristow for taxiway reconstruction.
  • $2,000,000 for Skiatook Municipal Airport for runway rehabilitation.
  • $1,776,226 for Ardmore Downtown Executive Airport for installation of runway lighting and rehabilitation of a taxiway.
  • $1,403,758 for Mid-America Industrial Airport in Pryor for an extended taxiway.
  • $1,118,764 for Ponca City Regional Airport for runway rehabilitation.
  • $816,666 for Hollis Municipal Airport to rehabilitation an apron and a taxiway, and reconfigure an existing taxiway.
  • $816,172 for Seminole Municipal Airport to reconfigure an existing taxiway.
  • $628,590 for Thomas Municipal Airport to construct an apron and a taxiway.
  • $496,803 for South Grand Lake Regional Airport in Ketchum to construct or modify a hangar.
  • $340,000 for various locations in Oklahoma for safety area improvements and regional system plan and study updates.
  • $266,666 for Carnegie Municipal Airport to install of perimeter fencing.
  • $221,814 for the State of Oklahoma for regional system plan and study updates.
  • $37,400 for Fairview Municipal Airport to construct a taxiway.

“The 434 AIP grants will fund critical airport infrastructure projects around the country,” said FAA Administrator Stephen M. Dickson.

Since January 2017, the Trump Administration delivered $13.5 billion to America’s airports to improve infrastructure and safety. In 2020, the Administration delivered $10 billion in economic assistance to America’s airports during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
