The Office of NextGen coordinated NextGen initiatives, programs, and policy development across the FAA's various lines of business and staff offices. The office also collaborated with other U.S. federal and state government agencies, the FAA's international partners, and the aviation community to harmonize NextGen policies and procedures.
Partner Engagement
The NextGen Advisory Committee (NAC) provides independent advice and recommendations to the FAA and responds to specific taskings received directly from the FAA. The Research, Engineering and Development Advisory Committee (REDAC) provides advice and recommendations to the FAA Administrator on the needs, objectives, plans, approaches, content, and accomplishments of the aviation research portfolio and also helps coordinate FAA research activities with other government agencies and the industry.
