Center Operations Division

Introduction

The William J. Hughes Technical Center's Center Operations Division (ANG-E3) provides facility maintenance, engineering, logistics, and support services for all properties located at the Technical Center, including land, buildings, and infrastructure, to meet the needs of FAA and other federal and non-federal organizations residing within the campus. The campus includes more than 250 buildings spanning over 5000 acres. 

Division Work

The Center Operations Division provides operations, maintenance, engineering, logistics, and support services to maintain a reliable infrastructure, a safe and healthy working environment, and a robust operational and administrative foundation at the Technical Center. Services provided enable all FAA lines of business and other federal and state partners located within the campus to meet their mission objectives effectively and efficiently. This work is accomplished with approximately 96 federal employees.

Branches

Quality Management and Support Services Branch

The Quality Management and Support Services Branch provides training and communication, quality management, and visitor program services to meet customer needs. These services reflect the Center Operations Division's commitment to ensuring high quality in customer service delivery and a visitor program commensurate with the Technical Center's unique place as the nation's federal laboratory for aviation research, development, test, and evaluation.

Facilities Operations Branch

The Facilities Operations Branch provides infrastructure and facilities operation and maintenance functions supporting Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation and National Airspace System sustainment programs at the Technical Center. The Branch is responsible for ensuring the 24/7 operational availability required of the Technical Center's infrastructure, utilities, and facility systems.

Facilities Engineering Branch

The Facilities Engineering Branch provides comprehensive architectural, engineering, and space management support services to FAA and other government organizations at the Technical Center. The Branch is responsible for oversight of all facility project implementation activities, including vendor coordination, construction management, and customer coordination. The Branch also implements Technical Center Order, Construction and Facility Modification Authorization Program, NG 4443.1C and Master Planning and Site Selection Order, NG 5310.1.

Logistics Management Branch

The Logistics Management Branch provides operational and transportation support services for FAA and tenant organizations at the Technical Center. Services include air shuttle services between the Technical Center and Reagan National airport, motor fleet management, property management and disposal. The Branch provides: shipping and receiving, mail delivery, warehousing and storage services which are essential to the supply chain and enables mission performance for diverse customers across the campus. The Branch operates the Customer Support store, which provides basic office supplies.

Security and Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Branch

The Security and EOSH Branch provides safety, security operations, environmental and occupational safety, and health services to organizations residing at the Technical Center. The Branch is responsible for physical security, emergency management, ramp operations, EOSH regulatory compliance, and information services to protect the environment and employees on campus while maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.
