Community Engagement — Raleigh-Durham

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is proposing to modify the airspace over Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in North Carolina. Under the proposed changes, existing flight paths would not change but where pilots are required to interact with Air Traffic Control would expand. The airspace change is to better manage the complexity and volume of aviation activities in the area. The purpose of the meeting is to ask for comments on the proposal’s effect on local aviation operations.

Information gathered through this meeting will assist the FAA in the drafting of a Notice of Proposed Rule-Making (NPRM) that will be published in the Federal Register. The public will be afforded the opportunity to comment on any NPRM published on this matter.

The agency will hold a virtual informal airspace meeting on:

Date: Wednesday, May 6, 2026
Time: 5-7 p.m. ET
Location: Register on Zoom to make a three-minute presentation or you can watch the livestream on FAA’s YouTube channel.

The FAA will accept comments on the proposal until Friday, June 5, 2026.
