Oceanic Integration and Interoperability Facility - Engineering Services
The Oceanic Integration and Interoperability Facility (OIIF) is explores issues related to the modernization of the NAS infrastructure. OIIF is available to both government and industry organizations that support the emerging NAS architecture. The OIIF can drive streamlined and informed acquisition decisions based on engineering evaluations in a realistic environment. The OIIF is designed and for modifications to the operational baseline in support of interoperability evaluations.
The OIIF facility is available 24 hours per day / 7 days per week. Activities at the OIIF include:
- Research and development
- Proof-of-concepts
- Engineering assessments
- Early program integration
- Program risk reduction activities
- familiarization and training activities
- Systems testing and evaluation
- Air traffic modeling and simulation
The OIIF staff consists of individuals with engineering expertise in the FAA Oceanic infrastructure. This knowledge serves as the basis for the OIIF role in supporting proof-of-concept and exploratory research and development activities pursued by the Oceanic Service Unit or any independent organization.
The OIIF staff is prepared to provide customer support to ensure that users receive the most benefit from their lab experience.
