The FAA will begin some new flight procedures for the Eagle, Colorado Airport beginning July 19, 2018. The FAA has designed two new departure procedures for Runway 25 using the latest technology that will increase navigational precision and safety.
The public may notice aircraft flying slightly different flight paths as they take off to the west from Runway 25 from Eagle County Regional Airport.
The new procedures are designed to keep flights over the lowest part of the valley and centered in between the highest points of terrain, although there can be some differences with some aircraft types with changes in wind and temperature conditions.
Simulations have shown the commercial flights will fly as close to the same ground track as can be predicted.
As part of the environmental review process, the FAA conducted a noise screening analysis of the new departure procedures.
The FAA reviewed these revised activities and found them to be in compliance with environmental regulations.
